Dorothy Amdur (Oct. 19, 1923 to April 10, 2012) fought for women's rights throughout her life, as part of what we now call Feminism's Second Wave. This biography draws on Ms. Amdur's papers from her efforts with National Organization for Women (NOW), Federally Employed Women (FEW), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and other groups that lifted women, via tax reforms to benefit working mothers, and the ERA. It features her sculpture "NOW IS THE TIME" and her articles. Her and dozens more voices from the 1970s -- Shirely Chisolm, Wilma Scott Heide, Ramona Barth, Mary Leyden, Daisy Fields, Martha Griffiths, Carol Bonosaro, Bernice Sandler, Joan Hull, Audrey Buyrn Phillips, Vivian Kellems -- remind us that women deserve to control their bodies, minds and lives.
