On the Cusp

East London is on the cusp of change. After decades of decline, it is now the focus of rapid commercial development. Creative industries and technology companies are moving in, and luxury apartment complexes are being built for overseas investors. There is strong political support for these changes, but also much resistance on the part of campaigners and local residents. On the Cusp follows a disparate group of characters as they struggle to engage with the consequences of urban development. It presents a multi-layered story of shady property dealings, political corruption, resistance and revenge. Combining sharp satire with a strong, entertaining narrative, the novel is extremely topical.
