Kiss me deadlyReviewNotice: Characters and story will be reviewed as a whole instead of separate stories but the stories will be rated separately with comments as though it was a normal “My rating” then the book as a whole will be rated and commented onCharacters: Depending on the story the characters are either amazingly developed,(elise and gittasasha and haiden, Patch, Chauncey, Brenda and owen, Sabine and Nash) soaringly lacking,(rose and asher, Moth and adam, amie, nick, velvet) fall in between of dislike and like(peter and ashley ,Jo, ani, deirdre, drew,nicholas, Tabitha and Patrick, anne and sulliven) or have penitential if only this wasn't a short story they could have been fleshed out better. Some characters were more vibrant and stood out better then others some were hateable but that just means they were written well and every kind of characteristic you can think of fell in at least one of these characters BStory: 7 first person stories and 7 third person stories if you count one story twice some stories pushed the term “Short” to a new level (two stories were 25 pages long for example) similar with the characters there are different stories and different writing styles and feel of each story depending on the POV. Some stories are “leave me breathless” amazing (Errant,Lost,Dungeons of Langeais,Familiar, Fearless) middle ground where you can't bring yourself to hate it but you don't love it (The spy who never grew up,Hare moon ,The hounds of ulster) or the groan worthy “This is soooo boring get to the good stuff already” (The assassin apprentice,The spirit jar,Behind the red door,vermillion) but [almost] none of them were really horrible (except maybe one) and that means good writing for sure each story was crisp, fresh and new either a new take on a genre or a new side of a story we already know or just a new angle from a writer we adore B+Cover: Steampunk/victorian style coloring with many pictures collage into it the most noticeable being the girl and butterfly wing turned on its side this cover only captivities you after you started reading but grabs you ASAP CRating: Young adultCompany: running press teensThe assassin apprentice: 3 of 5, 12 pages from the author of “ prophecy sisters” this was my first time reading any of his work it was ok not great but not the worst eitherErrant: 5 of 5, 17 pages from the author of “Rampant” another introduction to someones work and this blew me away though it was a little long and any author that can bring forth emotion from switching between two third person perspectives is amazing I'll keep her book on the “maybe later” list only because I have so many books to read alreadyThe spirit jar: 3 of 5, 23 pages from the author of “the iron witch” which (while I'm writing this) has yet to be released so it really is the first for anyone really. I'll admit I was board I actually took out another bookmark and skipped to the next story leaving the one book mark in so I could go back once I got a few more stories ahead thought I ended up forcing myself thought this one anyway reading it reminded me of “Thirst” it was stupid and predictable though the half Dinjii was interestingLost: 5 of 5, 12 pages from the author of “Blood angel” brilliant! I knew even before I finished this book that I would have to keep track of this author and that this would be a five star story despite the lack of detail in the main characterThe spy who never grew up:4 of 5, 14 pages from the author of “ The Demons Lexicon” I liked it and plan on watching this author too. I counted this as both a third and first person POV story and it very much reminded me of lemony sniket.Dungeons of Langeais: 5 of 5, 12 pages from the author of “hush hush” this was brilliant and showed both sides of evil chanceys and patch's both of them monsters in their own right wonderfully written and of course I love Becca Fitzpatrick's and ate this story upBehind the red door: 3 of 5, 20 pages from the author of “night life” it was ok I liked it but I didn't like the drinking, lesbians and predictable mysteryHare moon : 3 or 4 of 5, 16 pages from the author of “The forest of hands and teeth”I gobbled this one up quickly like the spy who never grew up however I didn't like the ending nor am I that big a zombie or dystopian novel fanFamiliar: 5 of 5, 17 pages from the author of “nightshade” squee I loved it loved loved it! -sigh- yet another author to watch hm?Fearless: 5 of 5, 25 pages from the author of “Strays” wow another one? Despite the 25 pages this was a real page turner really amazing and deep and I loved the couple Nash is awesome and the mythology in this is different and uniqueVermillion 1 of 5, 25 pages from the author of nothing this is the only author with out any previously published or soon to be published works sadly smiler to the first super long story(the spirit jar) this one dragged and dragged and it was very hard to picture anything let alone the characters this one was boring and confusing and nothing really made sense in short it was very boringThe hounds of ulster: 4 of 5, 10 pages from the author of “shiver” aw only 10 pages? Pfft thats nothing honestly I think this should have had 25 pages and the Vermillon have 10 but page count aside this story was great though I wish I knew the main character was a girl from the start but still it was easy to visuals and the story itself just flew right on nice ans smoothMany happy returns 4 of 5, 13 pages from the author of “Generation dead” wow this one surprised me though the ending was vague and I would have like something to happen that didn't happen (won't say what) and a better ending but not bad at allMy rating for the whole book: 4 of 5 Before reading this I had only read Becca Fitzpatrick's book (Hush hush) and Maggie Stefavater (shiver,linger, lament,) out of the 13 authors and have only heard of the others. I also admit this review was harder to write then most mainly because there is no one story, POV, or character so I can't just go off of “I loved so and so because” and rate it on JUST those characters that would be easy and this wasn't nor was getting though this book (13 days!? 13? that killed the recored for sure) but I stand by my rating. I don't regret reading this book because now I'm planing on reading “Strays” and “Demons Lexicon” and maybe “Blood angel” or one of the others there
