3.5 starsSo make it worth the pain.I’m done, I’m done, I’m officially done. THIS BOOK FUCKING BROKE MY HEART IN SO MANY WAYS. Thanks a lot Victoria Schwab. To be completely honest, I’m one of the minority who didn’t love this book as much as This Savage Song. I’m still trying to recover from the last two chapters and the elegy. I’m going to miss my two fictional children so much. I absolutely love Kate’s character development and I love August, but not as much in this book. As usual, the writing is superb with three different POV’s of Kate, August and Sloan. In my opinion, this book had a darker atmosphere than the first one. The beginning of the book was really slow, but it picked up by the middle. I also didn’t really like how The Wardens were left aside, because I really liked them and wanted to read more about them. I also thought that one of the scenes was unnecessary where Kate and August kiss I’m glad that the book didn’t focus predominantly on romance, but rather the aspect of friendships and family. Overall, I really did enjoy being punched in the face by this book. I’m going to miss August and Kate and just all the characters that I love in this book.
