Description

In a world teetering on the edge, a relentless virus known as the "Pandemic" threatens to eradicate humanity as those infected grapple with their grim fates. Scott Sigler immerses readers in a high-stakes narrative that builds upon the intense foundations laid in earlier installments, merging suspense with scientific intrigue. The tension rises as survivors confront the horrifying implications of the outbreak, discovering not only the depth of human resilience but also the darker aspects of desperation.

The characters, scarred by their past experiences, navigate a landscape rife with mistrust and betrayal. Their journeys intersect in unexpected ways as they battle time and decay. Allies may become enemies in a heartbeat, and every decision carries weighty consequences that could mean the difference between salvation and doom.

The vivid, pulse-pounding prose captures the rapid pace of a world in crisis, ensuring readers remain on the edge of their seats. Sigler’s adept storytelling brings forth not just the terror of the virus, but also the profound questions of survival, morality, and what it means to be human in dire circumstances.

As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that the fight against the Pandemic is not just against an invisible enemy, but a reflection of humanity’s will to endure. The finale promises to be explosive, leaving readers to ponder the fragility of life amidst chaos and the enduring spirit of those who refuse to surrender.

The... love triangle (?) is gross. These people interact weirdly & it makes me think the author is fucked up. ETA: Tim's aggressive 'flirting' in a work environment, during an emergency, WHILE her husband is in the room, it was all too much. Go, Steve! I love like it. ETA: Related: Well, fuck. This is my favorite one of the trilogy so far & I'm not sure if that's bc it's better or bc there's no Dew or Perry. Heh. Both?
