Peck and Peck

Thank you to the author and publisher for the chance to read an early copy of this book via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

If like me you're not a poetry lover, don't let it put you off picking this one up.
From the very first lines my interest was piqued and after I burst out laughing only a little further on, I knew without doubt I was in for another enjoyable ride from author Bonnie Garmus. As with Lessons in Chemistry, the storyline for this one was something a little bit different, with a diverse and quirky set of characters. It is a story of growing up and personal discovery, chasing your dreams, complex family relationships, and of course poetry. I laughed at the childhood memories, and rode the anxieties of stepping out in the real world for the first time. I found characters to love, as well as several deserving a more careful watch. It also made me greatful not to have inherited my name in the same way our main character has!
I was really excited when I was accepted to read this, having loved the authors debut and I've already cleared space next to it for a trophy copy of this one!
