View AllThis book is a great concept and I enjoyed the story. It has an apocalypse road trip vibe. I also liked Pestilence's journey learning about humans from a celestial perspective through the ages to then come and experience being (sort of) human. He is confronted with conflicting emotions around his purpose (bringing the plague and destroying the world basically), if he has choice in that purpose, and seeing the worst and then the best in humanity. Not really a spoiler, but the best of humanity is more little things: a delicious bite, feeling cared for, watching an elderly couple still deeply in love (shoutout to Rob and Ruth my favorite side characters). What did I not love? The heroine: she doesn't understand him (which I totally got in the first half), then she does (also a good transition), then she doesn't again (less believable) and back and forth with her tiresome internal struggles. There were also some incongruencies that I had a hard time with in the first half but was able to get past in the second half as the story came together. I mean, its a post apocalyptic love story where the MMC is one of the four horsemen. We are starting off having to suspend some disbelief here. Usually I really don't enjoy a lot of waxing poetic but it sort of worked here with the MMCs relative innocence. The spice is kinda mild and the story is engaging so I think this would be a good beginner semi-dark romance.
Me cerró la boca después de todo este libro.Me encantó Peste y como logró descubrir el amor entre otros sentimientos gracias a Sara.
