Fifty Shades energy meets ex-Navy SEAL intensity… but y’all, this one didn’t quite hit the mark for me. 😬Poppy is sweet, relatable, and had me rooting for her—love a strong FMC. But Jack… wow. He tipped into possessive/controlling territory that honestly made me cringe. I’m all about alpha a-holes, but this was way over the line. 😅 The audio didn’t help either, the narrator using a “deeper” voice for Jack felt unnatural, and it honestly pulled me out of the story.The beginning and ending were strong, with tension and sparks flying 🔥, but the middle dragged a bit... repetitive beats made it hard to stay fully invested. I kept thinking: more action, more thrills, more of that SEAL intensity please. The premise had so much potential, but the execution left me wishing for just a little more.💭 Overall: 2.5 stars (rounding to 3).
