📚 Final Girls by Riley Sager
⭐ 4.25/5 Stars ⭐
Okay, Riley Sager, you are quickly becoming one of my favorite thriller authors! 😂🔪 This is my THIRD Riley Sager book this month, and I’m really enjoying his writing!
This book had so much potential to be a five-star read for me! The first 10% had me hooked, and the last 30%? I could NOT put it down! 😱 The suspense, the twists, the need to know what was actually going on… I was completely invested!
But that middle 60%? 😬 It just dragged for me. I kept waiting for something to happen, and it felt like the story wasn’t really moving forward. If the pacing and excitement from the beginning and ending had carried through the entire book, this would’ve easily been five stars!
And can we talk about that ending?! 👀 I managed to guess PART of it, but Riley still had a few surprises waiting for me! I love when a thriller lets me think I’ve figured everything out, only to prove that I haven’t. 😂
Overall, despite the slower middle, I really enjoyed this one! That final stretch definitely saved the rating for me, and I’m already looking forward to my next Riley Sager book!

You're a survivor babe. I was really excited to read this book and very disappointed. I enjoyed another book by the same author so I knew what type of book I was expecting but the plot/characters were exhausting. You would think reading about a Final Girl would be exciting or interesting but it really wasn't. A good portion of the book, nothing happens. Not until you get through 76% of the book does it start to pick up. Also, the characters are ANNOYING. And I get characters have to do things to make the plot move but I felt there was too much repetition to the dialogue, the twists were not really a twist, and the characters were flat. I think Quin had potential to really show something but she was not likeable.
Solid Riley Sager book. But not on the level of House Across the Lake and Home Before Dark.
This book had me going 'What the fuck' every chapter. That being said, the fucked up shit happening was oddly engrossing.
Knew who the killer was in the first couple of chapters. Lots of red herrings and push to distract from that one person but it was kind of obvious for me. Didn't like any of the characters. Riley sager is really hit or miss for me.
Im too fucking scared (read as turned off) to even try riley sager again
