At the beginning of this book I found it difficult to get into. (To be fair, the first impression I ever had of Ms Douglas was Credence, soooo…)😂Once the characters were introduced though and their backgrounds, I simply could not put it down. There was a similarity I saw with myself and Ryen. And unfortunately, another connection with Trey.As the story unfolds I couldn’t get enough! I throughly enjoyed how things played out for certain characters. Almost gave me a sense of ‘fuck you’ to my personal experience too. Loved the ending.
i liked it. i wasnt in love with it but it was a good book. it just took a long time to read this book and by the end i just skimmed trough it. it had a lot of boring parts. 2.5⭐️
Loved this story, I never wanted to put it down. Highly recommend it
4 starsIt's definitely overhyped, but I still really liked it. There wasn't that much of a plot, but the other stuff was great😀
i found this book while looking through booktok (the bookish side of tiktok). this came up as a recommendation for a good book to get you out of a reading rut, which was exactly what i was going through. so i downloaded it & was instantly hooked!the premise of the book is that a boy named Misha & a girl named Ryen get paired up in elementary school to write letters to kids from a different school in the town over. instead of stopping when the school year ended, they continued writing each other for 8 years. fast forward to their last few months of their senior year : the two meet at a party in the summer before school starts but Ryen doesn’t know who Misha is, but he knows her. he talks to her & realizes she’s everything she said she hates. stuck up, rude & pretentious. shes the “cheerleader” she wrote about in her letters, claiming to hate her. he realizes she’s not who she says she is & doesn’t think he likes the real Ryen. he never reveals who he is but while they’re talking, a tragic event is taking place that’s going to change Misha’s life. after that night, he stops writing to Ryen for a few months. then suddenly there’s a new kid, Masen, at Ryens school. it’s Misha, under a fake name. he’s come to her school to get some things but ends up getting caught up with Ryen after all. she still doesn’t know who he is. i won’t say what happens between the two but it’s a wildride, that’s for sure!the characters are fun & interesting while still being real & relatable. you get to read from both Ryens and Mishas perspective as well so you get both stories behind the scenes. i really likes the writing style, i liked the characters, & the plot was a breath of fresh air (for me at least).if you’re looking for a quick contemporary romance read with exciting twists here & there, check this one out! it’s a little smutty in a few parts but it flowed really well & didn’t disrupt the story.i’m only giving it 4 stars but i don’t have a valid reason for not giving it 5. i really enjoyed it & recommended it to friends! i just save 5 stars for ones i get obsessed with lol
