5 starsIt is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities. As always, re-reading Harry Potter in an illustrated version never disappoints me. It makes it even more wonderful and magical. Jim Kay does the most fabulous job creating these illustrations, it's so inspiring. Can't wait to read Prisoner Azkaban!
This was so so so good!!!! I loved all the different aspects of the storyline and how they all came together in the end. I want a house elf....I want Dobby! I loved this book so much and I can not wait to read the next one!!
[Spoiler Free Review]I always thought Tom Riddle's diary was the most interesting part about the book and the movie! Another great entry into the series, but my most favourite book is yet to come...
This was a massive improvement from the first book and proof that you don't have to like the main character to like a book.
The world building (which is what this series is famous for and makes it shine) is put at the forefront. This lets the book shine.
The mystery element really helped elevate it and I loved the inclusion of Ginny joining Hogwarts.
I never really liked the second installment of the Harry Potter series. I think one of the reasons why I had a hard time understanding the second installment of Harry Potter when I was younger was that it didn't dawn on me that Voldemort could be a younger version or Tom Riddle could have been in your version of Voldemort or just the child version and so as a child watching the movies and reading the book I was very confused with that plot twist. Now rereading it as an adult I definitely understand it but it's still not my favorite one out of all seven installments no honestly I think I was still drink this one last.
Is it bad? No. Is it good? Not really. Although I enjoyed it because, c'mon, it's a Harry Potter book and I love HP, it is definitely not my favourite. Too many dull scenes.
