Rabbit's Wish

Hedgehog yawned. "Time for me to go to bed," he said. "So soon?" said Rabbit. "Yes, Rabbit," said Hedgehog. "You are a day creature and I am a night creature. That is the way it is."Every morning Rabbit has to say good night to his best friend. Even though Rabbit understands that's just the way it is, it doesn't mean that he has to like it. The truth is Rabbit doesn't like it one bit. During the long hours of the day, he misses his friend something awful and wishes that just for once Hedgehog could stay up with him all day. When a rainy day leads to flooding, Rabbit's wish comes true. Both Rabbit and Hedgehog are forced to flee to higher ground, where they spend the rest of the day together. And what a day they have!
