Rarest Pearl

Magic is everything!

Manifesting as you near your twentieth birthday.
It’s how bonds are made. If your potential mate desires you and the power you have, then he bonds with you at the annual ceremony.

But for me, it’s a dream.

I have no magic, and I’ll be the laughingstock of our coven.

Worthless like my stepmother always told me I was.

Except fate stands in and someone picks for me.

He’s older, and unknown to me, but beggars can’t be choosers.

I’ll make the most of it.

What I don’t expect is what happens when I reach his homeland.

When true intentions are revealed.

Fate is a funny thing.
