Description
Red Macaw Sun, the first Mayan novel, is based on classic, pre-hispanic myths and legends. The Mayan prince Kinich Kakmo battles against the forces of the underworld to rescue his bride-to-be. His epic journey through time and space brings him to a prophetic vision of the past, present, and future of the Maya. This is the first English translation of the work, and this edition includes critical introductions to the author and the novel, explanatory notes, a glossary of Mayan terms, and a bibliography.
