Ok, right, I finished it. Can I erase my mind and go through it all over again ? Do I really need to say how much I loved it ? How much I wished there was more of it ? More of Henry, more of Alex. More of this book. This book was amazing, though at the begining it was a bit hard to be completely inside the story well, at some point I realise that I was so into it ! That I was falling in love with the characters, that I was falling in love with this entire book and that I couldn't get it out of my mind. Just Henry and Alex relationship ! At first I was a bit sceptical I thought it would be the kind of story where one guy is just into it for sex and that he doesn't want to say that he's gay or bi and that at some point he rejects the other character, well the kind of relation that isn't really healthy. BUT the deeper you go in the story the more you see how cute, how innocent, how pure this relationship is. The way they always support each others, the way they handle the plot together I just find it nice to see this type of relation between two characters. This is one of the main reason that I loved this book ! So please if you haven't read it go ahead ! What the hell are you waiting for ? This book is amazing. Plus, the friendship and the moments they spend together are just so cute that I could die to re read it like if it was the first time. When I closed this book my heart was so full of love, so warm and soft and it felt so good ! While I was reading this book well, it felt like a safe place and I loved it !
This was the book that made me finally fall in love with romance books about 2 years ago. I decided to read it again, and I still find this book amazing. It's so inspirational and beautiful and is well-rounded. I laughed, cried, swooned, and was angry along with the characters. Also, this is just a great story about the strength that unconditional love provides, and that we are always on a journey of self-discovery.
3.5 stars3 starsSometimes you just jump and hope it's not a cliff.Ok so unpopular opinion please don’t come for me. I liked Red, White and Royal Blue but I didn't love it. This book was actually one of my highly anticipated book that I wanted to read this year but it just missed the mark. I honestly thought that this was a Young Adult book but turns out it’s actually more of a New Adult book. I really loved the relationship between Alex and Henry. They were both extremely adorable and I absolutely loved their banters. Honestly, I loved the scenes when they were together. The gang’s dynamic was cool as well.So what didn’t I like about the book. I found the pacing extremely choppy, as in everyone’s character development was off the page and the transitioning from scene to scene was really confusing at times. I also found the politics side of things really boring and forced, especially by the end when everything was focused on politics and Ellen’s re-election I had to skim read through that. I found the plot twists or the twists in general really predictable and cliché. I would have also liked to read it through Henry’s point of view as well. Additionally, I really think 400+ pages was a little too much and felt like the plot was dragging out by the end. If you want a romantic and happy happy book read, I’ll recommend it. It was a cute, adorable and a fun read beside all the politics.
