Description
Then tragedy strikes the Jacobs family; the preacher curses God, mocking all religious belief, and is banished from the shocked town.
Jamie has demons of his own. In his mid-thirties, he is living a nomadic lifestyle of bar-band rock and roll. Addicted to heroin, stranded, desperate, he sees Jacobs again – a showman on stage, creating dazzling ‘portraits in lightning’ – and their meeting has profound consequences for both men. Their bond becomes a pact beyond even the Devil’s devising, and Jamie discovers that revival has many meanings. Because for every cure there is a price…
This rich and disturbing novel spans five decades on its way to the most terrifying conclusion Stephen King has ever written. It’s a masterpiece from King, in the great American tradition of Nathaniel Hawthorne and Edgar Allan Poe.

View AllA really good story, it made me cry especially at the beginning and a little bit in the middle but it was amazing! Loved how we started at 1960s and finished in 2015?? Probably 17 the description of building, roads, and cars was facinating to read about. Also let's not forget famous people names/songs. I have to say I liked Jacob. He is definitely my favorite character. And this story is not really that scary or scary for that matter. It was more like... Sad/Drama?/heartfelt. But scary no.
Slow to startI felt it got off to a slow start, but still a good read. As a Stephen King fan I did enjoy this book, but was hoping for something a little different. All-in-all still a good read.
A slow burn of a book, filled with subtle horrors, Revival is one of my favorite King books in some time. By the time EVERYTHING starts to comes together to form one of King's more twisted conclusions, I couldn't put the book down. I can't say that the entire book held me in such rapt attention, like Salem's Lot or The Shining did, but for King to write a book with this level of depth, power, and horror, this late in his career, says all we need to know about his talent and place among some of the finest horror writers there has ever been.
