For her entire life, Rose’s life has been under everyone else’s control. The father who abandoned her, her mother’s poor decisions—even the bullies who made her feel worthless at school.

Now, after learning mixed martial arts, she finally feels as though she can achieve something for herself. But despite her successes in fighting, a cold emptiness still remains. And to make matters worse, she continues to drift further away from her best friend Todd.

Hardened by the troubles of her past, Rose finds herself a pawn in a conflict much larger than herself—a spiritual war between good and evil, taking place in her hometown of Hopetown, New Zealand.
