View All⭐️2One of the most unfunny and uninteresting romance books I've read in a while. This is ironic since the book is titled 'Romantic Comedy', is essentially a parody of SNL writers, and is widely described as 'hilarious'. Despite such a fun premise, this book was disappointing. As a comedy writer for TNO (a show like SNL), I thought Sally was one of the least funny main characters I have ever read. She constantly emphasised how unattractive and unworthy she was of dating someone like Noah, which was tiresome to read. The love interest, Noah, was just there. Not much to say about him. This so-called romance between Noah and Sally lacked any real development or tension, probably due to the author’s extreme detail accounts of how TNO worked in the first section of this book, as well as the behind the scenes where you meet a dozen cast members and crew members who never appear again, and that are simply meaningless and insignificant to the development of the novel, rather than building the chemistry between Sally and Noah.Despite dragging a bit, both the second and third sections (in which Noah and Sally reconnect via email) were perfectly fine. They weren't the best, but they were ten times better than the first section of this book. However, they weren't good enough for me to give this book an even higher rating.Overall, there is no point in reading this book if you want an enjoyable romance or comedy.
