View All***Gifted as part of the Release Tour, and this is my honest review***I have never read the 'Princess Diaries' books but I loved the films, so I signed up for this tour when it came into my inbox. The book is formatted like a diary from Mia's point of view, but because it was an uncorrected proof, it did make it a tad difficult to follow, I have not marked the book down for this, the 3 star is because for me it just did not come together properly, I do think it would make a much better movie script as then the visual aspect will give more dimension to the storyline. If this book was aimed at teenagers then it would have worked ok, but this book was aimed at the adult market (it has sex scenes in it - admittedly not graphically descriptive but they are there) and the storyline was just 'Okay' It started off slow, but then by the end it just seemed rushed. One Plot twist just had me annoyed, I am not going to put in a spoiler, but I was like why are you not furious at being kept in the dark for 12 years???Yes I enjoyed the book - I read it in one sitting, but since I am trapped in a hospital bed I had nothing much else to do but read and that's why it gets 3 points for keeping me reading... I may have rolled my eyes a few times, and guessed the predictable plot twists, but the book did stop me from worrying too much about my arm and the thought of having to go into surgery. If you are looking for a very light read with a childish Princess who is still stuck in that awkward faze that she was in the original books then you won't be disappointed. And I guess there will be a spin off series with the introduction of a new character at the end.
