Je dois avouer que j'avais quelques réserves en abordant ce troisième tome après avoir été déçue par les deux premiers livres, malgré leur potentiel. Et heureusement, ce dernier tome m'a un peu plus permis de comprendre l'engouement autour de cette trilogie. Si quelques facilités scénaristiques persistent, j'ai trouvé l'intrigue davantage originale, sombre et prenante à partir du chapitre consacré à l'histoire de Bahgra. Si je n'apprécie toujours pas plus que ça le personnage d'Alina, je l'ai trouvé ici beaucoup moins agaçante, moins niaise, moins plaintive et moins irréfléchie. La relation entre Alina et Mal s'est également améliorée, même si je n'y accroche pas plus que cela. J'ai trouvé aussi que l’univers s’étoffait enfin et devenait plus intéressant. Quant à la fin, même si elle est sympathique, je dois avouer que mon côté dramatique aurait préféré que Mal meurt pour de bon
