View AllSawyer by Jessica Peterson 1st/Dual Pov⭐⭐⭐⭐/🌶️🌶️🌶️Boy oh boy. This book started off with some out of the world spice and really didn't stop until *the end*. Sawyer and Ava are both single parents having a night to themselves in Dallas when they bump into each other and ...well...bump into each other. 😏🫢When they run into each other a couple months later - well that chemistry is still there! These two can't stay away from each other. This entire series is very fun, very filled with insta-love and whirlwind romances that happen super, super quick. But they're a lot of fun. I am normally not a fan of insta-love, but Jessica writes so wonderfully that it's pretty easy to overlook that part of the story lol. I'm looking forward to reading Duke's story in the near future! I've really enjoyed spreading series out a bit more so I'm not burning myself out on one world. I look forward to returning back to Lucky River Ranch soon!
Sawyer is hands down one of, if not my favorite, read of 2025 so far! It was a five star read from the first page until the very last page and I would 100% give it more than five stars if I could! 🩷I absolutely LOVED Sawyer! He is so sweet and the perfect book boyfriend. All of the little things that he did for Ava throughout the story were adorable! I would love to find a cowboy like him of my very own someday. I could also relate to Ava after she met Sawyer for the first time but then they were apart for a while before reuniting and during the time that they were apart despite not really knowing each other or anything but she couldn't stop thinking about him and everything reminded her of him as that is something that I've experienced myself and I know exactly how she felt. Another thing I loved was all of the country music references scattered throughout the book, especially the Shenandoah "Two Dozen Roses" references. I saw them in concert last July at our local 4th of July festival and it is one of my all-time favorite concerts that I've gone to. 🙂One of my many favorite scenes from "Sawyer" was their first date, that part was really cute. 🥰 Another one was when he cooked the steak dinner for Ava and their two little girls. These were just a couple of my favorite quotes/lines from "Sawyer" "Jesus, it’s like this girl read a manual titled Things That Turn Sawyer Rivers on an Absurd Amount." {Chapter 14, page 143}"Sawyer is in jeans and cowboy boots. He fills out the denim button-up underneath his vest to perfection, his shoulders and arms looking especially broad limned in the bright morning light. He’s wearing that fucking backward hat again, his dark hair curling out from underneath it. And his scruff, the mustache, the dimples— I am a dead woman. Even Ms. Sherman is blushing when she waves at him." {Chapter 15, page 153}“I’m relatively certain almost every woman with a pulse likes guys in backward baseball hats.” {Chapter 16, page 162}“Hot cowboys plus backward hats equals—yeah, lots of fun with toys.” {Chapter 17, page 173}The spark in my core flares into an all-out bonfire. How do I not devour this cowboy? How can I stay focused and smart and rational when he’s in the room? You don’t. You go wild, just like you want to. It’s who you are. {Chapter 21, page 213}This story was one of my favorite cowboy romances that I've read since I started reading romance books and I can't wait to read the rest of Jessica Peterson's Lucky River Ranch series both past releases and the upcoming books in the series! And I HIGHLY recommend "Sawyer" to anyone who loves reading cowboy romance. 🤠 *I received an ARC from Valentine PR and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Huge shoutout to Jessica Peterson and Valentine PR for the ARC—y’all are the real MVPs!!Alright, buckle up folks, because Sawyer is a rootin’-tootin’, heart-swooning ride through the emotional rodeo that is single parent romance. Ava and Sawyer? ICONIC. Like, genuinely—two souls carrying the emotional baggage of a small village, just trying to make it to bedtime without combusting. Ava’s got that sparkly chaos energy—firecracker vibes, wild at heart, funny as heck and fiercely loving. Sawyer? Oh he’s the human embodiment of a warm flannel blanket—stoic, sweet, slightly tortured, and yearning to breathe again. They’re both juggling kids, work, and emotional minefields—BUT somehow manage to fall into one gloriously spicy (and mildly chaotic) one night stand that catapults them into a slow burn of friendship and swoony love. And let me tell you—the steam level? Nuclear. I was SWEATING and blushing like a Victorian maiden with a fan.Their connection is deep, tender, electric—it’s like they were made to heal each other, and I was absolutely feral for it. Plus?? Their kids??? Actual angels. Literal cherubs. I wanted to wrap them in bubble wrap and protect them forever. We’ve got all the delicious tropes: dual single parents, small town magic, cowboy-meets-barrel-racer energy, and just enough yeehaw to make your heart gallop. Book 3 in the Lucky River Ranch series and I am SCREAMING for more!!!10/10 would recommend diving into this one—and the whole dang series! Yeehaw and pass the tissues!!
