Description

In the kingdom's high-stakes game of power and ambition, Prince Tristan Faasa finds himself torn between duty and desire. As a royal, he must conform to the expectations laid upon him, but his heart gravely yearns for a woman who seems forever out of reach. Bound by the crown, she is destined for greater things and marked by the responsibilities that come with her station, leaving Tristan caught in a grueling conflict of forbidden love.

Emily McIntire weaves a tale of complex emotions and the weight of societal constraints. As the narrative unfolds, the reader is taken on a journey through a world filled with intrigue, sacrifice, and the ever-present tension between allegiance to one's heart and allegiance to one's title. In this compelling story, the struggle for personal happiness clashes with the fierce obligations of royalty, leading to a climactic confrontation of love and obligation.

Once Upon A Time, There was a king who passed. He left behind two sons, one beloved and one outcast. The older of the two was set to take the throne, but before he could, he had to find a queen to call his own. The younger one was known to be unruly and unhinged. The chosen queen was warned to keep far away from him. Beautiful and cunning, in the light is where she stayed. But late at night, it was the shadowed lands in which she played. Mistakes were made and secrets forged; forgetting duty and her sense. And while the new king had her hand, her heart belonged to the scarred prince. *Scarred is a dark royal romance. It is not a retelling, and it is not fantasy. It has mature situations and themes which may be considered triggers for some. Reader discretion is advised.*

She doesn't belong to him...she belongs to the crown.

Look, this book was my best bet at enjoying romance again as I apparently gave book 1, 4 stars.I have apparently changed my reading tastes too much in 3 years and basically hated this from the get go. I don't know what it is, but I can't handle the cringy dramatic dialogue in these books (unless said as a joke). Also I thought the book would at least pretend Tristan was the bad guy at the start but I guess not. I ended up not finishing the book and I will be unhauling the series.
