Schlock! Webzine Vol. 8, Issue 27

Happy Halloween, ghouls and ghouleens! This week we have a bagful of treats (and tricks?) for you to enjoy.

We begin with a story by Stephen Hernandez, about a man who hates Halloween, and how he got his comeuppance. Next we’re at a Glastonbury festival of the future with Gary Murphy, where those deadheads are after your brains, man. Then comes a drugged-up Halloween visit from Steve Laker. After that Jerome K Jerome introduces us to his Man of Science in a classic ghost story from the nineteenth century. HG Wells regales us with another classic, The Story of the Inexperienced Ghost. In The Giant Bat, Dougherty learns that the beatniks are hunting... the thing...

Also this Halloween, we have the first episode of the third series of James Rhodes’ occult sitcom, The Hettford Witch Hunt, whose previous installments appeared in Schlock back in 2013-14, and are now available for Kindle from Amazon. In 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, Professor Aronnax and Conseil set out to search for the monster. And in A Connecticut Yankee at the Court of King Arthur, the Yankee and the king encounter an example of mob justice.
