Description
Shetland ponies are popular as pets and for use with beginning riders. These animals were originally bred for harsh weather and hard work on the Shetland Islands. Through the years, the ponies kept their shaggy coats and easy-to-train nature. Today's Shetland ponies are even used as service animals. Pony lovers will find out how these small horses became the special breed they are today. Specially chosen photographs spotlight the Shetland pony's unique qualities.
