Description

Set against a backdrop filled with mystery and intrigue, the narrative explores the lives of characters who navigate their personal struggles while being shadowed by spectral figures. While ghosts frequently drift through the scenes, they serve more as reflections of the past, rather than ominous harbingers of fear. The story weaves a rich tapestry of human emotion, where the supernatural elements enhance the characters' journeys instead of overshadowing them.

In this enchanting tale, themes of loss, identity, and resilience take center stage, inviting readers to ponder their own memories and experiences. As the characters confront both their past and their futures, the presence of the ghosts encourages them to shine brighter and embrace the life lessons interwoven in their stories. The blend of reality and ethereal encounters creates a unique atmosphere, leaving readers captivated by the experience.

Rosa is mute but it doesn't stop her from talking to people on the internet. Ansel95 understands her unlike the inhabitants of the Island of Mirasol where she lives. Like Rosa Ansel95 has his own secrets. Rosa may be mute but she can still hear. I thought this book is quite powerful. She has no dialogue other than messages online and Candy Gourlay manages to translate a lot via Rosa's thoughts. The idea of having this mysterious friend online was quite interesting to me. And they both have their own secrets which is some way brings them closer together. Also, the whether has a very important role in this book, as it sets the mood and reflect the emotions Gourlay is trying to express.
