3.75 ☆'sReading this one when in bed, with the lights off, is not advisable when needing a good night's sleep! I'm sure most of us have heard a creek in the night and had to convince ourselves we aren't about to be attacked. This one had all the creepy boxes ticked. I would have scored higher but there were a couple of side plots that I felt didn't really add to the story particularly when the whole story was revealed at the end.

3.5* I honestly wasn't sure what I was expecting with this book and I actually enjoyed it a lot. It was slow at times and I did find the final reveal pretty predictable, but it was quite a journey!

His & Hers Book Club 2026 Book 2. And also read for another book club (suggested by moi after loving All Her Fault on the tv and having the hardback copy of this book on my shelf for literally years) Started strong then totally flopped for me. I mean <spoiler>why was he watching the kid sleep??</spoiler>
