Spy story

This is a work of faction: that is, fiction built on a solid base of fact. Most of the events, even the seemingly improbable events, happened. Most of the characters existed, although some names have been changed to protect the persons or their families. The Buhls are among those. Theirs is a true story of a couple torn apart by global conflict, in the most bizarre circumstances. And U-boats did abound around the southeast coast of Africa during World War II, around that remote area still called the Wild Coast, preying on Allied convoys and provisioned by Nazi collaborators.
