Star Moon, Part Three

About half of them turned around and opened fire on Artemis and Ham. None of them could even see Alison. She hopped over the dead ones to break the necks of the next closest one. Artemis chopped the arms off of the soldiers that held the rifles before thrusting her sword through them.
Ham’s guns roared to life shooting the ones with their backs to them. They were dropping like flies as he fired away. When his guns got hot again he holstered them and stood between the women. Ham put his palms out and shouted loudly. Suddenly all the Zachrians in the room, the dead as well as the living ones vanished into a thin cloud of atoms.
He hurried on to the next room that was also filled with Zachrians. Once again he held out his hands and shouted. Once again they turned into a cloud of atomic dust. To the next barracks and then the next he did the same until he had finally come to Lika.
Lika stood at the back of the barracks. Golden shield in one hand and his flaming sword in another. He was alone as far as Ham could tell. Ham watched Lika fight. He fought much like his sister Artemis except his shield was also a weapon. The edges of it was razor sharp. For a moment Ham stood watching this man’s incredible skill at fighting. He wondered even if he needed any help. Behind Lika, Ham saw piles of dead bodies and body parts.
The moment Artemis saw her brother fighting so many Zachrians she was enraged and began hacking a pathway to him. Off to the side, an invisible Alison was kicking and twisting heads and breaking their necks. Deciding he should join in Ham drew his guns and began shooting the Zachrians on the opposite side of the room as Alison was. In short order there were no longer any living Zachrian soldiers left in that room.
Artemis and Lika embraced in a loving sister brother hug. Alison too hugged Lika. Ham stepped over the dead bodies and shook Lika’s hand.
“It’s good to see you are still alive Lika. You could have called for help.” Ham told him.
“I could not. That would have meant defeat.” Lika told Ham. “I have sent the Dellar to defend the shaft. My Mons are not yet good fighters and they had no shielding. Many have been lost today. But they will rebuild themselves.” Lika smiled happily. “I am glad to see the three of you are unharmed.”
Just then a noise was heard behind them. It was Drewberry and the troops. Everyone turned off the invisibility shields and took a deep breath and a sigh of relief.
