Description

Claire Keyes, a gifted twenty-eight-year-old pianist, finds herself at a crossroads in life when it comes to love. Despite her musical accomplishments, personal relationships remain an enigma. Claire has always focused on her art, leaving little room for romance or the kind of normalcy her friends enjoy. Now, as she navigates the complexities of her career and her emotions, she begins to question what her heart truly desires.

Amidst her struggles, Claire's world starts to shift when an unexpected connection arises, challenging her views on love and intimacy. As she faces her past and opens herself to new possibilities, Claire learns that finding the right partner might be a journey worth taking, one that intertwines passion and vulnerability in ways she never imagined.

In this first book, we got to know a little about the warriors and their demons and also followed the love story of Maddox and Ashlyn. I loved this book, as well as Dark Lover, the romance is built very quickly, let's say the couple has an instant connection - so if you don't like stories like that this book isn't for you - But it didn't hurt their chemistry that it was wonderful. The book ends with a feeling of wanting more and that the story will develop further. I love that the next book comes soon to Lucien because he is already my favourite. And yes, it's mainly because he's called Lucien and reminds me of Lucien from ACOTAR

I've read a few books by Susan Mallery this year mostly from the Fool's Gold series and I enjoy them, they are not life changing or intense BUT they are a fun few hours of entertainment. Someone recommended that I read a different series by Susan Mallery, I'm glad I did I give Sweet Talk (Bakery Sisters #1) ★★★★. I liked the complicated relationship between the sisters. I like that the sweet prodigy Claire finally found some backbone and stood up to everyone who want to tell her she wasn't worthy. I glad that Nicole the sister who took care of the baby sister and the business realized that life isn't always greener on the other side.
