Cathy, a reckless heiress with a ruthless stepfather Result: A pint-size spitfire

Cathy Calderon had been a willful, wild little thing, and Rafe had foolishly believed that she could love a rough-edged Texan--and that her stepdaddy wouldn't carry out his ominous threats.

Six years later, as Cathy planned her wedding to another man, Rafe was reeling from a shocking discovery. He had a daughter--a miniature version of the woman he'd once worshiped. Common sense warned that if he valued his life, he'd forget them both. But then, Rafe never had been one to listen to common sense.

MAN OF THE MONTH: "Marriage is on his mind--he won't lose his bride again!"
