Description

Locan A’Shadow has earned quite a reputation, whispered about in taverns and shadowy corners across the land. The tales paint him as a legendary figure, a master assassin whose exploits blur the line between reality and myth. Rumors tell of his daring confrontations with dragons and his uncanny ability to vanish into thin air, leaving no trace behind.

But beneath the surface of this legendary persona lies a man grappling with his own demons. Locan's life comes with burdens, haunted by choices that shaped his dark path. As he navigates a world of danger and deception, he must confront not just his enemies, but the shadows of his past that threaten to consume him.

R.S. Moule weaves an enthralling narrative that immerses readers in a rich tapestry of intrigue and adventure. With every twist and turn, Locan’s journey reveals that even the greatest assassins carry scars, both visible and hidden, and that finding one's true self is often the most perilous task of all.

I looked forward to reading The Assassin's Shadow given my experience with the author's Erland Saga series. Unfortunately, it did not go as expected. The story and the characters didn't resonate with me. I stuck it out hoping it would get better, but it never did for me. The narrator made the journey more bearable. His interpretation of the characters provided a picture of their appearance. His accents for each of the characters were distinct, so one could always know which character's POV one was hearing at any given time.
