View AllI looked forward to reading The Assassin's Shadow given my experience with the author's Erland Saga series. Unfortunately, it did not go as expected. The story and the characters didn't resonate with me. I stuck it out hoping it would get better, but it never did for me. The narrator made the journey more bearable. His interpretation of the characters provided a picture of their appearance. His accents for each of the characters were distinct, so one could always know which character's POV one was hearing at any given time.
