Description

In a world beset by betrayal and broken trust, Kiva is haunted by her perceived failures. Once a determined and fierce fighter, she finds herself grappling with the consequences of her decisions. As she navigates a complex landscape filled with treachery and unexpected alliances, Kiva is forced to confront her own vulnerabilities. Her journey takes her deeper into a realm where loyalty is tested and survival hinges on navigating the shadows of doubt.

With each step, she uncovers secrets that challenge her understanding of right and wrong, pushing her to the limits of her courage. Kiva must awaken her own power, learning that redemption can sometimes stem from the very depths of despair. As she transforms from a reluctant participant to a pivotal force, the weight of her past actions fuels her determination to protect those she cares for.

Her fight becomes not just against external enemies, but also against the inner demons that threaten to consume her. Kiva's story is a poignant exploration of resilience, strength, and the enduring search for hope amidst darkness.

4 stars Great end to a series!

July 25th 2026

💍4 stars🌪️I'm actually really sad that this is the last book in the series, but I am nowhere near disappointed. This was better than I expected.🫰THE ANGST. I guess I just love to torture myself with reading about couples having arguments or people dying, because I was tearing up. And now that I've finished the book, I miss my tears.👍The characters were so cute! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Tipp and Caldon (obviously), but I also like Mirryn, Oriel, Jaren, Kiva, and Ashlyn. Basically everyone.👍Loved Lynette Noni's writing! Even the acknowledgements made me laugh, and I usually skip those in books. That aside, it was funny, emotional and fluffy. "Now, we dream." yes yes yes jaren whatever you say👍The twists are good, nothing exceptional, but compared to the first book? It wasn't as good.👌I'll mention this below, but this book is pretty deep -- check your TWs.👎Book started off slow. When I say slow, I'm not referring to the trauma and grief, but the part after that, when she was training and exercising... it just kind of threw me off because I was picturing her running laps around in the darkness. After she manages to escape though, it gets a ton more interesting.👎Didn't like the build up before the climax -- as in when she returns to the River Palace to find the three of them, because their characters felt kind of inconsistent.

This book was the perfect finish to this trilogy I loved it but I really wanted another book as an epilogue for the future of the characters like maybe the royal wedding and maybe more of Calden and create or Ashlyn and Torrell and maybe a series with their kids but alas this was a wonderful series and I really enjoyed reading it
