Description
Nine-year-old Bruno lives a sheltered and innocent life, unaware of the dark reality surrounding him. When his family moves to a house near a concentration camp, he sees the world in black and white, with little understanding of the events and ideologies that shape it. Bruno's imagination fills the void left by his ignorance, leading him to explore his new environment in search of companionship and adventure.
As he navigates the grounds of his new home, he stumbles upon a boy on the other side of a fence dressed in striped pyjamas. This chance encounter sparks an unlikely friendship that transcends the boundaries of their vastly different worlds. Through their interactions, Bruno begins to question the meaning of loyalty, friendship, and the nature of prejudice.
The story unfolds with a poignant simplicity, contrasting the innocence of childhood against the backdrop of unimaginable horrors. It challenges readers to reflect on the human capacity for understanding and empathy in a time when such qualities were desperately needed.

Reviews
Watched the film and found it emotional but was a great film, wanted to read the book to see if it added any more to the story which it didn’t but wow it was like hearing the story all over again even tho I knew what happens in the story. Such a brilliant book :)
