this was really complicated

July 1st 2024

Never before have I enjoyed the third book in a series more than the first until now. I liked the first a lot, the second was all over the place with a toxic, disturbing dynamic between the main characters, but the third was brilliant. The writing style itself has incredibly moving prose that was absent in the previous novels. Absolutely delightful and emotional to read. I loved the humor in this one, the straight forward mystery, the satisfying climactic twist I never saw coming, and how sweetly it ended. I almost gave up on this series after that second installment, and I'm so glad I didn't.
