Description
Outside the night had been one of unabating fury. The blizzard, rising violently, blew around and through the draughty old house. Inside, the scene was no less furious, for just as the storm reached its peak, young Robert Warbeck staggered to the tapestried windows and fell dead.
Strangely enough, young Robert's death, while it was terrifying enough, came as no great surprise to the other guests who were celebrating Christmas at Warbeck Hall. For Robert was a hated man; hated for his rude selfishness, his fascist politics, his cruelty, his love affairs. It was almost inevitable that he should be murdered--it was almost a relief that the deed had been done. But relief turned to terror when the guests found that they were snowed-in with a desperate killer....
