The Complete Sherlock Holmes Collection

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes, the quintessential English detective, first appeared in A Study in Scarlett (1887). He started featuring in The Strand from 1891andthese stories would eventually be collected in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (1892) and The Memories of Sherlock Holmes (1894). His death in the short story 'The Final Problem' (1893) met with such outrage, that Doyle was forced to bring him back to life in 'The Adventure of the Empty House' (1903).
