View AllWith her grandmother suffering with dementia and living in a care home, pregnant Saffy and her boyfriend, Tom, inherit her old cottage. While renovating, 2 bodies are discovered buried in the garden from 30 years prior and grandma obviously knows something. A solid 3. I liked it but nothing mind blowing. It was a little drawn out but, overall, a great mystery full of family secrets and murder that kept me guessing the whole time. I had already guessed at the big twist but it was still an exciting, gasp-worthy reveal. There were multiple POVs, past and present, and while I loved the multi-generational mother daughter dynamics, there was a little too much going on and all trying to tie together. It did all come together, but I feel like some of the subplot was unnecessary to the big picture.
I loved it so much, so much. The gasp i gasped when I read the BIG twist i was Done. I didn't expect that ending at all and I really thought I already guessed the end. it was so good, the writing , the characters, i loved the different perspectives. I loved Saffy so much and I feel like I relate to her the most . I loved everything and I will sure pick up more books from Clare.
Loved this!!Fab book, hadn't seen the twist coming and loved it when it did. Stayed up late because I couldn't put it down!
