Description

In a world where love and betrayal intertwine, a young woman finds herself haunted by memories of a broken heart. At fifteen, Axil Moon shattered her dreams, leaving behind a trail of unresolved emotions and a burning desire for revenge. Years later, she crosses paths with him again, no longer the girl she once was, but a woman determined to reclaim her power.

As the stakes rise, the line between vengeance and ambition blurs. She must navigate the complexities of her feelings amid a world ruled by supernatural forces and long-held grudges. The rekindling of old flames stirs a whirlwind of passion and pain, forcing her to confront not only Axil but her deepest desires and fears.

Beneath the surface of their tumultuous connection lies a tale of loyalty and betrayal, kindling a fiery confrontation between the past and the present. Her quest for revenge may lead to unexpected alliances and truths she never anticipated.

*potential spoilers if you have not finished The Forbidden Wolf King*While I enjoyed the previous books in the Kings of Avalier series, The Forbidden Wolf King fell short for me. The beginning was overall okay, I was intrigued by Zara’s character and the idea of the wolf queen trials, but once Axil and her reunited everything went downhill. It felt like things became very rushed, especially that the other queens happened to be there right in time to help Zara and Axil. It felt predictable that no one would be in any danger, and that predictability made me bored with the story. The big war also went by very quickly and didn’t feel satisfying. I feel let down because I thought this would be my favorite of the books, but it was the worst of them.
