Description

In a seemingly perfect world where pain, suffering, and emotional depth have been eradicated, a young boy named Jonas begins to question the very foundation of his society. As he embarks on his Journey of Discovery, he is selected to inherit the memories of humanity's past, allowing him glimpses into a vibrant world filled with color, emotion, and the complexity of life. Through his interactions with the Giver, the keeper of these memories, Jonas learns about love, joy, and the harsh realities that accompany them.

As Jonas grows more aware of the sacrifices made for the sake of uniformity and control, he faces a heart-wrenching choice: to conform to the safe, sheltered existence or to embrace the uncertainties that come with true freedom. This poignant narrative explores themes of individuality, the importance of memories, and the stark contrasts between a superficial existence and a life filled with genuine experiences. Jonas's journey serves as a thought-provoking reminder of the value of human emotion and the weight that memories carry in shaping one’s identity.

It was a quick ad easy read for me.I really like it.Maybe because It was easy to read for me,But at the same time I enjoyed reading it as well.It is about a boy called Jonas who lives in a community where everything is the same.He doesn't know anything about other life styles except the one he knows.Until Giver makes his eyes open to a new way of life. This book makes me think that we have lots of things, even very simple things in our lives, but since we got used to them,we don't know how important they are, or simply we don't enjoy them. Things such as love, friendship, every kind of feeling, ability to decide for yourself, nature, different colors, even to be different is very wonderful sometimes!
