Reviews
Why did I wait so long to read this? The worldbuilding, complex right off the bat but you can tell Katherine Addison worked at making this society feel real. The characters, numerous but you only need to focus on the ones who keep showing up, just like in real life. Reading this plot about a leader who is dedicated to being kind and trying to learn how to be - and succeeds at - being competent in times like these, whew.I was legitimately angry to learn there's no follow-up to this book, but will go ahead and give the other books a shot. Not ashamed to admit upon learning there's no direct sequel, I went ahead and found fanfiction to satisfy my cravings (first time in a while!).
