✨️Audiobook review✨️ The Hurricane Wars by Thea Guanzon⭐️⭐️⭐️.5Now I'm pretty sure this is an unpopular opinion but I felt like it was a knock-off version of Fourth Wing.
The Hurricane Wars had an interesting premise and a vivid world, but it didn’t fully work for me—mainly because I just didn’t like Talasyn. The story spent a lot of time describing places, outfits, and scenery, yet her character never felt relatable. Instead of growing or deepening, she often felt flat and overshadowed by the world-building.I also found myself wishing Alaric had a better partner. Their dynamic didn’t feel like true enemies-to-lovers; it read more like forced proximity dragged out over many pages. The emotional payoff never matched the buildup, and the one spicy chapter was one of my least favorite moments due to word choices.Overall, the world is rich and the concept is strong, but without a compelling heroine, the story fell short for me. A solid 3-star read, but not one I’d revisit.
