Description

In the shadows of Stockholm, a chilling murder of an entire family unfolds, leaving the city shaken. DI Joona Linna feels the weight of the unspeakable tragedy and knows he must turn to an unconventional ally for help.

Desperate to untangle the threads of a baffling case, he seeks the expertise of a hypnotist. As secrets emerge under the flickering lights of memory, the stakes rise, pulling Joona deeper into a suspenseful labyrinth of human psyche and dark truths.

Amid the gripping tension and a race against time, themes of loyalty, fear, and the haunting power of the past illuminate a story that captivates and compels. This tale is as much about uncovering evil as it is about confronting the fragile nature of the human condition.

If I had considered the movie, I probably wouldn't have given it more than two stars, even though the film features continuous flashbacks that might keep the viewer in suspense. But since it is a book, which in my personal opinion is pleasant and fluid to read, I am going to give it five stars.

Despite this, without taking anything away from the intellectuals or monologues of Italian figures such as: Roberto Bolaño (though Chilean, often grouped in these literary contexts), Giampiero Mughini, Massimo Cacciari, Roberto Saviano, etc., throughout the writing of the book there is an abundant use of dialogue: a fairly reasoned discourse that would allude to a book written in the first person. Instead, the duo that forms the pseudonym Lars Kepler confirms once again their affinity for working together and as a single subject.
