Saya berekspektasi tinggi waktu mau baca buku ini, dengan tagline "Worldwide Best Seller" nya, yg berarti setidaknya, bagi banyak orang, ini bukan buku yg mengecewakan (karena laris di seluruh dunia).
Tapi setelah membaca 100 halaman pertama, ternyata lumayan, lumayan membosankan. Ok mungkin setelah ada konflik nanti bakal seru.
Ternyata setelah kelar baca, momen seru dan menarik (seenggaknya bagi saya) itu gak muncul². Memang di beberapa bab ada bagian yg sedikit emosional, tapi malah di momen puncak yg harusnya epic malah jadi flat dan.. Begitu aja.
Premisnya nyeritain soal Amir, seorang anak orang kaya yg tinggal di Afghanistan, yg bersahabat dengan Hassan, anak pelayan di rumah Amir. Persahabatan mereka begitu dekat sampai ada 1 hal yg ngebuat.. Ah nanti spoiler. Silahkan baca sendiri, free di ipusnas, copyannya juga banyak.
Disini cuma ada 1 pov, yaitu Amir sebagai pov orang pertama.
Sebenernya buku ini dibilang jelek juga nggak, cuma gak sesuai ekspektasi saya aja ceritanya.

This book was only okay. I couldn't connect with any of the characters and I can't really explain why, but I just didn't like it that much. Khaled Hosseini's second book, [b:A Thousand Splendid Suns|128029|A Thousand Splendid Suns|Khaled Hosseini|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1345958969s/128029.jpg|3271379] was really good and he is a good writer but this story just wasn't for me.
