The first half was interesting but the second half just lost me. There wasn’t any plot twists or surprises, but was still kind of unbelievable and unrealistic. I’m usually fine with suspending belief if the payoff is worth it, but I didn’t like what it all led to and hated the way it ended. I would definitely consider it more of a mystery and/or drama than a thriller whatsoever. Even the characters felt bland and boring. Apparently, it’s been adapted into a TV series with Jennifer Gardner as the lead. Maybe it plays out better as a show.

It wrapped up the story in a way that felt natural while leaving room for interpretation.Overall, "The Last Thing He Told Me" is a thought-provoking and well-written novel that'll leave you wanting more.
