Residents of a small town in Ohio are suddenly confronted by a spectral house that appears and disappears before their very eyes, and a strange, glowing dwarf. Then the disappearances begin.

The trail leads to a government-financed project intended to radically boost agricultural production. When Saxon & Associates arrive to investigate matters, they encounter and rescue the sister of a missing graduate student and Weed comes face-to-face with the gibbering horror in the dead of night.
