I've read this series out of order, so finally got to book one in the Pride series. Shelly Laurenston is a hoot, her books make me laugh out loud ... completely ridiculous but so much fun. This books has two stories for the price of one: NYPD cop Desiree "Dez" MacDermot & Mace Llewellyn were buddies as kids, after years of separation Mace has decided he wants Dez ... NO won't work for him. And then we see Brendon Shaw chases Ronnie Lee Reed, trying to convince her that he wants her for keeps. 4 stars
