As the investigation deepens, the novel intricately weaves together the personal stories of those affected by the turmoil — a grieving mother, a conflicted officer, and a neighbor harboring unspoken truths. The shifting perspectives create a tapestry of emotion, capturing the strain that tragedy and fear can cast upon relationships.
The haunting atmosphere is punctuated by moments of suspense, as the protagonists wrestle not only with the external threat but also their inner demons. The night, a recurring motif, serves as both a shield and a perilous veil, fostering a sense of dread that keeps readers on edge.
Ultimately, this gripping tale explores themes of resilience, the fragility of trust, and the moral complexities faced when confronted with darkness. The characters are pushed to their limits, revealing how far one might go to protect what they cherish when the night turns ominous.

Reviews
View AllThank you netgalley and publisher for allowing me to read and review this arc honestly. This book pulls you in from the beginning and keeps you guessing. There’s a lot of characters (to me) but was easy to keep track of who was doing what or what storyline you were reading for that chapter. I’d recommend this book for others that love fast paced psychological thrillers!
Its was pretty good, kinda average thriller imo. I dont think there were any signs of who the actual killer is, only in the last few chapters when the characters are figuring it out thanks to new information.
