I've been a fan of Trudi Canavan's since my early 20s, re-reading all of her books on a regular basis. This one is my favourite of the Black Magician trilogy.The author writes about strong women, and focusses on their problem solving, strength, determination, and bravery rather than their looks or introducing pointless romances. A magical fantasy delight.
