View AllWhen I picked it up,the first couple of pages didn't grab me.I didn't understand why the author brings himself to the story. All the time I was saying to myself:"why are you reading this if you don't like it."The answer was this:"All the people say it is great and you have to read it."Now I am very happy that I didn't give up and read it and must admit that it is great.
after 3 years on my TBR Shelf, I purchased a copy of this book( bargain price of $5).A further 2 years later, I discover this book on my bookshelf at home. waiting, just wanting to be read.so for the new year I thought I'd not only read it , but I'd savour it as It had been waiting for so long to be read.and I don't regret reading this book for a minute. if you have ever seen the movie there are very subtle differences but the classic essentially remains the same. either that or I just need to watch the movie again.the only thing I regret about this book is the 5 years wasted not reading the darn thing!!
