Description

In a realm steeped in legend, the queendom of Inys stands at a precarious threshold, grappling with the absence of an heir from the House of Berethnet. As ancient alliances wane and the threat of a long-forgotten enemy looms large, the fabric of society begins to unravel. Evelyn, a noblewoman with fierce determination, finds herself entangled in the political tensions that threaten her country’s stability.

On the other side of this divided world, tensions soar between various factions, each with their own secret agendas. As the past resurfaces, both personal and political betrayals come to light, pushing characters to confront their own truths and the legacies they inherit. The delicate balance of power hinges on untested loyalties and the courage to face the darkness that lurks beneath the surface.

Amidst the rising chaos, unexpected alliances form, and the fate of the queendom may rest in the hands of those who dare to challenge destiny. As the world teeters on the brink of war, hope and valor emerge as guiding lights, leading towards an uncertain yet compelling future.

Reviews

I struggled on what to rate this book. The world building is fantastic and there are definitely parts of this book that are equally fantastic. However, I found a good portion of the content to be pointless and was not excited by many of the side stories happening throughout. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it. I felt as though a good portion of this book could have been removed and we would have arrived in the same place. I also only fully felt invested in the characters Sabran and Ead. The other characters I found to be very flat without much depth. But by the end I did enjoy Sabran and Ead and felt they were more well rounded. Overall, I’d give this author another chance. I think there is huge potential. I just didn’t fall fully in love with this book.
